Trabuco Canyon Sanctuary

The design intent for this project was to create clean, contemporary lines with warm, natural materials, for a straight-forward, active and artistic family. The modern pool and straight lines of the hardscape juxtapose with the UC Verde lawn and informal plantings. The gardens are composed of two levels, an upper, more human habitated landscape with the pool, a fireplace, and covered dining area, and a lower level with a decomposed granite path and meadow plantings. The colors and materials are earth-toned; simple and soothing. This project was featured on Sunset Magazine's blog in August 2011.
